Hailing from a Red Hot sire line of Looking at Lucky, Breaking lucky comes from an impressive female family. His dam Graded stakes placed Shooting Party broke her maiden in her first race before going on to place in the G1 Garden City Breeders Handicap, G3 Pebbles Handicap and G2 Nassau Stakes. She had already produced two winners from her first two foals to race when she produced Breaking Lucky who went on to win 1,196,376. Currently, Shooting Party is the dam of 4 winners including Quake Lake, dam of G1 Country House (also by Lookin at Lucky) and G3 Mitchell Road.
